The Brave And The Bold - Bronze Age Two!

The "Haneyverse" was in many ways the most fun corner of the DCU, since one never knew what might happen there or who might show up. The carefully crafted multiple-Earth concept found in the Justice League and Flash and elsewhere did not function in the pages of The Brave and the Bold. The art was magnificent with the likes of Neal Adams and Nick Cardy having had regular runs, but it was the addition of Jim Aparo which truly made the weird wacky Haneyverse a truly unique land to explore. Having built up a reputation for craftsmanship at Charlton,

Aparo brought his talents to DC and teamed with Haney held down the fort at The Brave and the Bold for virtually all of the Bronze Age of Comics. Even when the book morphed into Batman and The Outsiders, Aparo was there to give his special eye to this special Bat-corner. Deadman, Metamorpho, Metal Men, Wildcat and others thrived within the confines of the Haneyverse, somehow freed from the whims of continuity which sometimes confined other characters to oblivion.  The Haneyverse was like Wonderland, it didn't always have to make sense, it only had to be interesting and boy was it.
