Here's a utterly enchanting Marvel promotional poster by the great Johnny "Ring-A-Ding" Romita. The 1974 date of this poster is exceedingly strange given the out-dated appearance of Captain Marvel in his original green and white Kree military uniform. Romita had the knack for making every character he portrayed more handsome, idealistic in fact. Romita's contribution to the success of Marvel in the late Silver and early Bronze Ages cannot be overstated. He was the guy who largely determined what these characters would look like after the departure of icons Ditko and Kirby. Romita's insistent humility about his contributions makes them all the more impressive in hindsight and speaks highly of the man who brought romance to the heroes of the Marvel Universe.
