This is my favorite cover!
I like other covers a lot, I like other artists a lot, but this cover by Big John Buscema for King-Size Avengers Special #2 is my all-time favorite cover by my all-time favorite artist.
The power of Buscema's figures here as he showcases the then current team of Avengers and the original team is exquisite. The moment is that split-second just before these two titanic teams crash into one another, the specific moment of highest drama. That's storytelling in a heartbeat.
There have been many clash covers since this one, but none were ever better.
