






These "Big Premiere Issues" landed on the racks in 1968 just about the same time I started prowling for Marvel. What a great time to jump into comics.


For some reason neither Doctor Strange nor SHIELD got the "Big Premiere Issue" blurb, but they are part of that push nonetheless.

This was my jumping on point as well. A few years ago I wrote a blog post about the first comic book I can remember…and within weeks or months of that issue, I was buying both Marvel and DC books by the truckload.
ReplyDeleteThere was a real "lost world" aspect to comics for me at least. It was uncovering a vast territory, and I wanted to explore all the corners.
ReplyDeleteComics were zesty back in the day. Now they seem to be to ironic to have the same vitality.

Thanks for posting this, I'm trimming down my collection and wanted a list of the Marvel issues that had the Big Premiere blurb that I would keep for my PC.
