I'm a great admirer of Dick Giordano, but the cover above for 1963's Space War #22 for all its slick surfaces and good eye-popping color, demonstrates that even a talent of Giordano's caliber can slip. The perspective on this cover is a mess. The spaceman's head seems a wee bit too big and the space ship seems way too small. It's odd how the two "X-2" images are identical in size. Of course proper perspective could clarify all this, but for whatever reason, Giordano's usually impeccable skills don't communicate that here.
