This dynamic Jim Aparo cover for Charlton's
Grand Prix #31 is his only contribution to this genre that I can locate. It's a fantastic piece of energetic artwork though, showing quite viscerally the power of the crash. There's no evidence that Aparo did the story this relates to in the comic, but he sure enough generated a fantastic cover. Charlton's Hot Rod books can be fun to collect and fun to read, but this one is a real gem to pursue.

Apparently it's Aparo week?
ReplyDeleteWhat makes you say that?
ReplyDeleteJust kidding.
I don't really plan some of these things. It just so happened that I had several Aparo pieces in my files and one thing led to another. At this point I admit, I'm focusing on him, but that wasn't the plan a few days ago necessarily.
There's lots of good Aparo to choose from, that makes it easy.
