Uneasy Lies The Ploog!
If Kull the Destroyer #11 was the best issue of the run, then #12 was easily the second best. "Our Pal" Sal Buscema supplies the inks on this issue, and his style and Mike Ploog's don't really mesh all that well I think, but it's still a solid story told.
The cover seems to have undergone some changes though as these roughs indicate. The original drawing of Kull's head has been replaced, for a more intense glowering expression. This amendment is the work of Bullpen ace John Romita according to this source.
I like the published version better, but it's nice to see Ploog's original vision.
