Charlton Comics Classic Covers from Charlton Neo offers up thirty-one vintage covers from the company from across several decades. Thirteen of the covers are by Steve Ditko as is the cover of the collection itself. Several more are by Dick Giordano. In addition to the published covers there is also included artwork from the fanzine Charlton Bullseye featuring Tom Sutton's portrait of the ghost hosts as well as Joe Staton's model sheet for Baroness R.H. Von Bludd. There is also the "unpublished cover" of Captain Atom #90. All of the covers have been enriched with brilliant color, often very different from the hues used on the published covers, all of which can be seen in the gallery below. They are presented in the order in which they appear in the collection. Enjoy.
Rip Off
Some wonderful covers here, especially the Ditko ones. A lot of these ( not the romance ones) were used as the covers for various Alan Class comics in the UK . The older I get the more I miss seeing Charlton comics on sale, they always provided some special characters, art, and stories
ReplyDeleteI'm looking forward to a year dedicated to re-reading my favorite Charlton comics as well as Ditko stories from as many companies as I can manage. Charlton in their own weird way always had a charm.
