Back To School -- One More Time!
It's been a cool fifty years, half a century since I graduated high school way back in 1975. The world has changed a lot in the intervening decades, not nearly all for the better. But this weekend I'm taking some time to reflect on those olden days and meet up with some old school chums at what will almost certainly be the last reunion I'll attend. (I haven't attended one since the twenty-fifth.) Hard to believe that life has raced by so quickly. (Heavy sigh.)
But enough of that eyewash. Now for some more vintage L.B. Cole comics covers celebrating the vim and vigor of teenage youth. Enjoy!

I will have left full time education 50 years ago in a couple of years, scary , where does the time go? Some very striking cover here I particularly like Pop Teen-agers# 5 very "Betty and Veronica"
ReplyDeleteIt's only been in the last four or five years that I've not been either a student or a teacher. Yegads!
DeleteThe first cover features a photo of Ronald Reagan in the days when he was merely a heart-throb for teenage girls rather than an evil reactionary old b*stard.
ReplyDeleteA bastard for sure, and the root of the evil which is eating away at my country and the world today.
DeleteThere's some awfully good art to be found in romance comics, especially by Matt Baker. A lot of the stories are pretty good, too!
ReplyDeleteBaker was the master. Don Heck drew a handsome dame, but to my mind no one touched John Romita. DC had many great romance artists as well.
