We wrap up this gallery of Marvel Tales reprints of the classic Stan Lee and Steve Ditko Spider-Man comics. It was very nifty to have these in handy reading form, even if some topical references had been altered by Tom DeFalco, the reprint editor of the series.

The Marvel Tale reprints were great, nice perfect reprints, other than some changes in dialog as I recall. It was nice to be able to manhandle them and not touch the majority of my original sets.
ReplyDeleteI manhandle all my comics. I bought them for fun. (Actually I don't do that as my girls can tell you, I treat all books with reverence.)
DeleteDitko's evocative cover for Marvel Tales #172 has got to be one of the best he ever did.
ReplyDeleteIt's a classic for certain. He at the top of his game in these later Spidey issues.
