I was totally tickled by this gruesome cover for the Australian comic Tales of Terror Picture Library, rich with vibrant colors and red red blood. The dame here in the graveyard is threatened by a hand of indeterminate size erupting from the hallowed ground.
The very next issue seems to show what happened next as the terrifying hand grabs hold of the defenseless dame and makes way with her clothing. Hmm. Something seriously creepy is at hand in the editorial offices.
Later still another comic cover by the same company for a different comic titled Nightmare Suspense Library seems to have yet a third scene in this nightmarish scenario as the woman bereft of her clothes now much once again confront the probing bloody fingers as they grasp at her nubile flesh.
Icky!

Her head looks a bit too big in that first cover. Were the interiors American reprints?
ReplyDeleteNo idea. I agree about the head. Proportions didn't seem to be this artist's forte.

Those certainly are titillating :)
ReplyDeleteI would be a boob to reject your keen analysis.

The interiors would have been American reprints - the market for original Australian content has always been negligible to non-existent.
ReplyDeleteI'll take your word for it. The covers are sure attention getters.
