You mentioned in the previous comments section that Steve Ditko had tuberculosis which I hadn't known. My father was only three weeks older than Ditko and he too had tuberculosis as a young man. Despite only three weeks difference in their age my dad died in 1999 which was 19 years before Steve Ditko's death.
TB was just one scourge modern medicine had put to rest for the most part. Now like measles and whooping cough, I dread it will make a return in the no-nothing world I live in.
