For no especially good reason, other than I love to look at them, and I'm guessing so do most of you, here is a dozen dramatic Neal Adams covers. He really has that talent to structure the layout so that it smacks you in the nose. These are covers for comics that dared you to buy them.
Mykal: Both Adams and Kane benefited from Carmine Infantino's exquisite layout skills at DC for sure, but both artists also became outstanding cover artists alone too.
Cerebus: Marvel Feature #1 is a treasure, one o my all-time favorite comics. The interiors are by Ross Andru and Bill Everett, and they are special to say the least.
Rip: Adams is my favorite DC cover artist ever (even favored over Kane). He also did the best Batman ever (screw Miller).
ReplyDeleteLove those Adams covers! I nearly bought Marvel Feature no.1 recently, but couldn't quite afford it, so had to settle for no.2 instead :-(
ReplyDeleteAnd for obvious reasons that Cerebus cover is a favourite...

Rip Off
He's probably my second favorite all time artist, after George Perez.
