














A classic comic cover image is the imposing head looming symbolically over another scene. It's a clever way often to add emotion to a scene that features primarily action. ReplyDeleteIt's a common enough image for sure. A number of the covers above are by Rocke Mastroserio. I never thought about him being a particular proponent of this technique, but he sure used it a lot. Or maybe it's Dick Giordano who used to design the covers.
