Despite killer crocodiles, white-hot flames, poisonous rattlers, and lurking bushwackers, I bet the most dangerous thing a modern critic might glom first on this cover by Dick Giordano is the cigarette dangling out of Kid Montana's mouth. ("Jaws of Death" indeed!)
Given the wild and dangerous world he lived in, smoking mere tobacco is nothing at all, but I can see folks getting their sphincters knotted up over this "message" being sent to hapless readers.
