Horse Thief?

I was taking a gander at the new covers at GCD as I'm wont to do and I noticed the Little Rascals cover for Four Color #778 above.

It reminded me of another cover I featured here several weeks ago.


The Little Rascals cover is credited to David Gantz, long time comics artist. I can't find a name for the Treasury of Horses special issue, but I daresay that they look similar.

The Treasury cover precedes the Little Rascals cover by two years. It's dated September 1955 and the Rascals cover is dated February 1957. Swipe or not? I think so myself. But then assuming Gantz did both covers, can an artist really swipe from himself?
