On The Rampage!
The early tabloid-size comics from both DC and Marvel were mixed blessings. On one hand they offered up some choice reprints of vintage material which was exceedingly neat to get hold of. But on the other, the books were notoriously difficult to store and and care for after the initial excitement had worn off. I seem to remember them being the red-headed step-children of the back issue stores for a time, but now they have been redeemed and command high prices.
The early Marvel books focused on their stars, giving us early treasuries featuring Spider-Man, Fantastic Four, Thor, and as you can see The Incredible Hulk. The issues included in this volume can be seen below, a nice spread of yarns from across the whole canon of Hulk stories from his origin from issue three of the original run to his battles with Hercules, Namor, Doc Samson, Thing and many more across the years.
It's a great and memorable cover. So much so that a modern artist has taken it as an inspiration for this attempt to put our current "so-called" President into some sort of context.
Now that our Prevaricator-In-Chief is under criminal investigation I imagine his bad traits will only manifest themselves in all sorts of wild ways -- a rampage indeed.
Rip Off
