Justice Inc, is a new series upcoming from
Dynamite Comics as they continue to plunder the vintage heroes of yore. After a fairly lackluster Doc Savage limited series I can't say I'm brimming with excitement for this one, but I have to sample the first ever crossover of these three stalwart Street and Smith pulp stars. Doc and the Shadow have met before several times, and the Avenger has crossed into the world of the Shadow, but they've never all three been in the same story. It should be a hoot, it's hard to imagine how Dynamite could mess this one up. But given my experience with the company, I sadly fear they might.
At least the Alex Ross cover image is ultra fabulous!
Rip Off
The Avenger is frighteningly close to the covers of the 70's paperback series. Strange to see two pulp heroes with Steve Holland's face standing next to each other.
ReplyDeleteHadn't thought of that. Odd indeed!

I've always felt oddly protective towards the Avenger, for reasons which should be obvious, and I'm not any more optimistic than you are. However, since I remember that Shadow/Justice Inc. crossover issue from DC with some considerable amount of sentimental fondness, I could be tempted to pick this up if only to see how Doc works in that equation.
ReplyDeleteI'm curious and I will follow it, but I wish I had more hope it would really shine.

After the Doc Savage experience, my hopes are minimal
