Jim Aparo was a mainstay artist at Charlton for several years during the reign of Dick Giordano as editor-in-chief (and somewhat before too). He did many a creepy cover for the company. His covers for Ghostly Tales I featured last month in this post. Here we have his covers for The Many Ghosts of Dr.Graves and Strange Suspense Stories, the spook series I most associate with him.
But easily the most famous "Ghost" Aparo worked on for Charlton was Lee Falk's "Ghost Who Walks", The Phantom. Here are Aparo's Phantom covers, many having a very creepy quality all their own.
