100 Days Of The King - Day 45

It's the Fourth of July and as of this moment the nation stands. The United States of America has weathered many things in its long two hundred and forty-one years of history. The nation has done great things and done terrible things, but through it all was the promise that we'd do better. I hope we don't lose contact with that fundamental promise.

More important than any man, even a hero as ideal and noble and pure of heart as Steve Rogers, is the soul of the nation. A nation can spend much, can lose much, but it must never sacrifice its collective soul.

God bless America! God bless the world! God keep us all!

  1. Very appropriate post! Kirby certainly knew what it was like fighting for the country he loved. We should all have a better understanding of history. It is there to teach us about the future.

    1. What Kirby learned about oppression and the beauty of liberty during the war certainly informed the most personal work that he did.
