A Day In The Anti-Life - Sow What!

I think the old proverb goes something like this -- "For they have sown the wind, and they shall reap the whirlwind." That's how I see the spectacular week-long debacle which passes for modern Washington politics in these United States. It's been evident for a very long time that our current "so-called" President is not up to the task he so voraciously sought all last year. He has neither the training, the temperament, nor the inclination to improve his deficiencies which might suggest he is someone a citizen can put their trust in. He has his fans, but so what. He's spectacularly wrong, and relative popularity, though persistantly measured is no balm for that absolute assessment of utter failure.

It seems that at long last the "Deciever-in-Chief" has finally committed such woeful acts that even the myopic and sluggish Congress is beginning to rouse. I have always argued the vile nature of Trump is the result of Republican politics as they have been played for several decades now,  The Republicans have won the day, but the week eludes them as they realize that their leader might not be stable enough to stay round long enough to put his signature to the reactionary laws they are attempting to push through. They have eaten a lot of manure in order to keep sufficient order to get their miserly legislative way, but now they realize that history is looking on with a baleful eye.

I read that our "so-called" President is getting more and more paranoid, screaming at the TV he watches way too much during the day and night instead of confronting the tough issues he brags about solving for the American people. Well tough amigo, he wanted this gig and now he has it. Grow the hell up and be a man and do the job. The country needs a president, not a whiner who seems to think that everyone lives to make his life a little easier. He must quit bitching so much about "witch hunts" and  own misfortunes as he imagines them, and just lead.

Now that the investigation has become more formalized with the announcement of a special counsel, I hpe this thing can recede a little -- it needs to for all our sakes. But I don't hold my breath.

  1. Yeah buddy! Things are looking pretty Nixionian this week…except the Watergate break-in sort of pales when compared with 18(?) unauthorized deal-cutting/pocket lining communications with the Russians before the Trumpening even went down …Absolutely crazy… Hoping he’ll just resign and save the country the division sure to ensue if he doesn’t. But then we end up with President Pence – and probably President Ted Nugent in 2020 (because one should never underestimate the sheer, uninformed wackiness of the American electorate.) Whatdaya do…? You have a great weekend Dean…BTW Svengooli is showing Monster Zero tomorrow night…

    1. As much as the "reality show" we all share might be well served with a dramatic and abrupt ending, I fear this will drag on for quite some time, with regular cast changes in the West Wing.

  2. You just have to stand back and say "what a crazy week." It was literally a new scandal every day. I keep wondering how much more of this needs to happen before Congress acts. Or maybe his cabinet will declare him unfit for duty

    1. Congress has roused a bit but the new Special Counsel will take this off everyone's plate, at least for the moment. Now we just have to stay out of any fresh wars.

  3. If I have learned anything from classic horror movies, it's this: when you create a monster, don't be surprised when he goes off on a destructive rampage.

    1. True that. And being bright orange, this monster would fit right in at Marvel.
