Variant Popeye Two!

Last year I took a look at some of the distinctive and outlandish variations on a theme artists had rendered as alternate covers for Yoe Books' outstanding Classic Popeye series which is reprinting the vintage run from Dell Comics in sequence. The series must be doing quite well since it continues to hum along and the eventual end is in sight in a few years. Hopefully they can just keep chugging and offer up the Gold Key and King Features books after this. George Wildman's highly readable Charlton adaptations deserve a new audience.

But whatever the case, here is another helping of some exceedingly strange takes on the Thimble Theater gang. Just in time for "Snowpocalypse 2016" - Enjoy!

    1. My fave is the wacked one with a fanged Popeye punching the head off Frankenstein. These are strange.
