Stamped With Approval!

I still have these beautiful stamps around here somewhere, stashed away for no particular reason. But when they released back in 1995 I knew I wanted to have a sheet. While thirty-two cents won't post anything by itself these days, it does mean that whatever happens these have some practical value, unlike most of the mountain of comic books I have littering the joint.

I did not however bother to pick up the stamps below in the middle of the last decade, I don't think. It's possible they're stuck in a box, but I don't have any firm memory of it.

These are much more popular than the Comic Strip stamps to the general public, but they are not nearly as lovely in my estimation, though the covers are nice to see with that forty-one cents blazoned upon them.

  1. I bought the DC and Marvel postage stamps when they came out - and promptly used them to pay my bills with. (I’m sure the billing employees were very impressed.) There are currently a series of Batman stamps out (I saw them on Tuesday at my Post Office.)

    1. Using stamps to send out actual mail. How novel an idea is that you rascal.

      Good show.

    1. I wish I could remember if I have them. I think not, but it's just possible. I know folks sure told me about them when they showed up at the post office since I am sort of known locally as the "comic book guy" (I don't look like him by the way).

  3. I really wish the USPS hadn't stretched the comic book cover images to fit the size of their stamps. I would have been much happier if they had made the portraits in a narrower ration to fit the usual comic book height x width.
